Auburn tech company wins NASA contract to develop next generation microchip

Auburn-based Tahoe RF Semiconductor has been awarded a Small Business Innovation Research grant by NASA.

The company will develop a new miniaturized chip for spacecraft.

The next-generation chip will facilitate improved signal sensitivity to track craft above current GPS navigation satellites.

While most GPS is used for measurements on Earth, the new chip will enable NASA to track craft in geostationary and highly elliptical orbits.
