*Texas* ranks #1 in manufacturing jobs
According to a new study released from AreaDevelopment.com, Texas is the top manufacturing job creator in the nation.
Texas took the top honors due to the state’s extremely diverse economy. From rich energy resources driving oil and gas recovery and production, to a thriving tech sector buoyed by semiconductors and aerospace, Texas is a manufacturing powerhouse.
According to data from the Texas Workforce Commission, there were 850,300 manufacturing jobs in Texas in 2012, and has consistently increased its manufacturing employment every year since 2009.
The Texas Enterprise Fund, an initiative by state government to entice top companies to come to Texas, has enjoyed widespread success. This combination of business climate and state government incentives has caused major companies like Caterpillar and Samsung to begin major operations in Texas.
