Oklahoma City among best cities for finding employment
Adecco Staffing, a human resources firm, has named Oklahoma City as one of their 10 Best Cities For Finding Employment Right Now. The list was compiled by the company using their own job growth and demand data and Department of Labor statistics to rank metropolitan areas based industry diversity, cost of living, size of the employing companies, and education levels.
Oklahoma City was ranked 10th on the strength of its low unemployment level (4.9%) and its top hiring industries, which include aviation, aerospace, biotechnology, and logistics. Currently, the job/skills areas with the highest demand in Oklahoma City are technicians, engineers, assemblers/machinists, and administrative.
Overall, Bethesda, Maryland was ranked first, followed by Austin, Texas, Jacksonville, Fla., Grand Rapids, Mich., Columbus, Ohio, Seattle, Phoenix, New York City, and Richmond, Va.
