Flightstar Aircraft Services generating space for jobs

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — As many as 300 new jobs could be generated with the latest opening of Flightstar Aircraft Services‘ new hangar.

Flightstar is a leading provider of heavy maintenance and repair services to the commercial aviation industry and recently opened up 113,000 square feet of additional space. It’s the single largest hangar ever at Cecil Airport. Construction costs exceeded $27 million.

The new hangar will boost Flightstar Aircraft Services’ existing maintenance, repair and overhaul schedule.

The company already employs more than 1,100 at Cecil Airport.

Since 1999, more than $93 million has been invested in improving Cecil Airport’s infrastructure and facilities.
