JetBlue flying to Albany International Airport
ALBANY, N.Y. – A new carrier will begin providing service in November at Albany International Airport.
JetBlue Airways will be flying to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as its first destinations, according to Albany Airport officials.
At a State of the Region event Thursday, airport officials said the arrival of JetBlue could help bring down fares at Albany International, which reported a 1.3-percent increase in passenger traffic in 2014.
They also said that Southwest Airlines, the primary carrier in Albany, is planning a $1.2 million expansion of their baggage handling area.
