Boeing adding 900 jobs, investing $80M in Oklahoma City
OKLAHOMA CITY — Boeing plans to invest $80 million to construct a 290,000-square-foot facility at its plant in Oklahoma City. Included in the project is more than 150,000 square feet of state-of-the-art lab space. The aerospace company will establish about 900 jobs in the city.
Boeing will relocate some workers, but many of the positions will be filled with new hires from the Oklahoma City area. The positions include skilled engineering jobs and have an average annual wage of about $90,000.
The Oklahoma City Economic Development Trust approved negotiation with Boeing on $6 million in economic development incentives. Boeing’s expansion is projected to have a $637.7 million economic impact on the city during the first four years.
