Port San Antonio to add 5,000 jobs by 2020

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Port San Antonio President and CEO Oland Mower unveiled an ambitious goal to add 5,000 new jobs by 2020.

The plan involves working with tenants at the former Kelly Air Force Base and public partners in order to modernize the property and increase collaboration amongst customers and businesses looking to expand. In order to facilitate this game plan, Port San Antonio is implementing a $100 million capital improvement project in order to foster job-growth opportunities.

Port San Antonio is already home to a wide variety of aerospace, manufacturing, business services, logistics and Department of Defense operations that employ 12,000. The existing businesses are already engaged in the capital improvement program, which is aimed at attracting more tenants and jobs.
