Airports Council names Portland Jetport best airport in North America

PORTLAND, Maine — Airports Council International recently named Portland International Jetport 2015’s Best Airport in North America, according to its annual Airport Service Quality Awards. The airport also ranks globally in overall customer satisfaction for airports serving fewer than 2 million passengers.

“This is an amazing honor,” said Paul Bradbury, airport director. “This award validates that our continued focus on meeting and exceeding passenger expectations is working.”

The ACI Airport Service Quality (ASQ) program is the airport industry’s only global bench-marking program measuring passenger satisfaction in real time while passengers are at the airport. Implemented at more than 300 airports worldwide, the ASQ program delivers an in-depth assessment of the quality of customer service experience, including elements such as check-in; security; wayfinding; food & beverage; and more. The resulting database allows for a comprehensive analysis of the customer service experience at each participating airport.

Portland International Jetport’s overall satisfaction score was the result of the highest rankings in areas such as efficiency and wait times for check-in, courtesy of airport staff, cleanliness of terminal, as well as ground transportation.
