SkyWest leader, Nu Skin honored at Utah Economic Summit
SALT LAKE CITY — Jerry Atkin, former chairman of SkyWest Inc., received a Lifetime Achievement Award, and Nu Skin Enterprises received an Outstanding Company Award as more than 1,000 business leaders from around the state gathered at the 10th annual Utah Economic Summit, Deseret News reported.
“I commend Mr. Atkin and Nu Skin for their significant contributions to enhance the lives of Utahns,” Gov. Gary Herbert said in a prepared statement. “There are many individuals and businesses statewide that demonstrate true excellence, not only for the economy, but in their communities as well. These individuals and businesses are a critical part of Utah’s success.”
“I’m humbled and honored to receive the governor’s award,” Atkin said in the statement. “SkyWest’s success and contributions go far beyond any one individual, and I’ve been fortunate to work with the greatest people in the industry.”
“We are honored to receive this recognition from Gov. Herbert and are proud to have called Utah home for more than 30 years,” Truman Hunt, Nu Skin president and CEO, said in the statement. “While Nu Skin has grown to be an international enterprise operating in 54 markets, our roots are firmly planted in the Utah business community. This area is home to a talented and highly educated workforce that understands the global complexities of business and is at the forefront of scientific and digital innovation.”
